Youth Love Offering
We are excited to include in our youth’s Sunday service experience the
Tithing Process of Life. In order to allow our
young ones to practice demonstrating the tithing
model a love offering is will be received during
Sunday School, Uniteen and Y.O.U. service time. The
amount given by the youth will not be our focus. We
will be directing the learning on the importance of
giving as a way of life. As you know, giving to
where we receive our good is an important lesson and
a blessing within our lives.
We, at Unity, want our children to understand this lesson and begin
receiving life’s blessings, even at their young
ages. The concept of prosperity is far more easily
learned when young and will serve them for a
lifetime as they apply the spiritual practice of
tithing. Tithing is the act of putting God first in
our lives, whether it be a tithe of thought
(prayer), prosperity (financial), and/or works (acts
of kindness). The children have been experiencing
how to put God first through thought and works and
those within the Sunday School Ministry feel it is
time to bring prosperity into their consciousness.
We encourage and invite parents to join with us and really share what it
has meant within your individual families as you put
God first in all things. Allowing your children to
“earn” a financial blessing by performing works
throughout the week and then encouraging them to
pray before deciding the amount they will bring to
their church family will support the Tithing Process
of Life that the Sunday School Ministry is teaching.
Another possibility of teaching the process would
be tithing on financial gifts received, whether they
are gifts received from someone else or money you
give to them for giving on Sunday morning. First
and foremost, we want them to learn that when we
give back to where we are spiritually fed, we open
ourselves up to receiving back from God, our good.
When a financial gift is unavailable the children
will be encouraged to offer a word of intention for
prosperity as the basket comes to them, thus
reinforcing the tithing concept of prayer and
thanksgiving.
Talk with your children about the ideas behind giving and tithing.
Thank you for helping your children understand at an early age the value
of giving where good is received.

“Conscious
Discipline is a Shift from seeking to create an
‘obedient’ child to nurturing a productive member of
your family (classroom) and you will see a world of
change in your young one. Conscious Discipline can
teach you the skills that you need to have the safe,
happy life you dream of having. New data are
providing fresh insight into the relationship
between brain and development and behavior.” Dr.
